HoYoverse’s newest RPG comes as the developer has seen massive success with Genshin Impact following the game’s high-profile launch in late 2020. The RPG quickly became an online phenomenon and has won multiple accolades since its release, most recently taking the Player’s Voice Award at the 2022 Game Awards. The popularity of Genshin Impact has seen HoYoverse make a push to capitalize on the RPG’s success, announcing Honkai: Star Rail shortly after the game’s first anniversary and later revealing Zenless Zone Zero....

With the effects of the US entity list continually weighing on Huawei (and by association Honor) it makes sense that the company’s IFA announcements this year were light on phones, with Honor instead choosing to offer new wearables in the form of the Watch ES and GS Pro, in order to appeal to a wider audience. Huawei fans might recognise the Honor Watch ES as it bears more than a passing resemblance to the Huawei Watch Fit, which recently launched in China and the UAE....

Being developed by Firesprite, Horizon Call of the Mountain aims to translate the franchise’s action-adventure gameplay to virtual reality, letting players scale mountains, encounter different tribes, and battle a slew of different Machines with a range of weaponry. But in a departure from the main Horizon series, Call of the Mountain sees players take control of Ryas, a brand-new protagonist who has a pretty heinous past and is on the journey for redemption....

The tribes of people are particularly compelling, as the reach of the Carja, Nora, and Oseram don’t stretch to the Pacific. Instead, Aloy finds friends and foe in the Utaru and Tenakth, with other tribes present in Horizon Zero Dawn feeling like fish out of water in the sunshine-soaked scenery. Learning about the culture of each is made easier by the allies that Aloy collects throughout, and their base of operations that is in use to prepare for the final fight is a contrast to the lonely story of the previous game....
