Scorn is one of the most anticipated games of 2022 because of its intense themes, tremendously gruesome graphics, and unapologetically horror-centric campaign. In addition, the developers seem dedicated to appeasing fans, as has been made apparent by the recent announcement.

The Scorn Team posted an image to Twitter showing the benefits of the deluxe edition of the title and confirming that the game will be coming to GOG.com in a DRM-free format. Essentially, this means that players can pay a one-time fee for the title and choose how to use and install the content. Unlike with other games that are often only available and playable on certain platforms at certain times, DRM-free titles allow gamers more control over the ownership experience. Kepler Interactive is listening to their players, letting fans focus on Scorn’s bloody horror gameplay rather than on the circumstances of their purchase.

The news about Scorn is interesting consider the title’s previous trailers and announcements. Scorn has been created for Xbox consoles and Windows, and the version on GOG.com will surely present opportunities for different players to get their hands on the upcoming horror title. Indeed, in addition to Scorn’s availability in DRM-free format, the title is currently 10% off as part of a pre-order promotion on GOG.com and Steam. This is even more reason for gamers to considering purchasing the game before its release around the Halloween season.

While the news about Scorn is an encouraging sign for players, it does not mean the game will be a resounding success. Playing as Scorn’s creepy main character certainly looks interesting, but there have been plenty of games in recent years that have launched and been poorly received. The developers of the title are clearly dedicated to their creation, however, and that is an undeniably positive signal. Hopefully, as the released date of Scorn approaches, fans will see more peeks at gameplay and be delivered a title that delivers well on scares, graphics, story, and more. Come Halloween, gamers will finally be able to play Scorn in its entirety.

Scorn will be released on October 21, 2022 for Microsoft Windows and Xbox Series X/S.
