Some of these secrets, though, are seemingly best left undiscovered, as one player found out while exploring the Sheerside Mountains. Among the mountains is a rebel outpost known as The Greypeak. While players can get to the location by foot, it’s recommended they travel through the air if they want to find the strange glitch in Horizon Forbidden West. Once arriving at The Greypeak, players will be able to spot an odd cave. To reach the cave, they must clamber up the slope to its left before gliding down into its entrance. Once a player is in the cave is where things get strange.

A quick jump in the cave will reveal that it is in fact a bottomless pit to the center of Horizon Forbidden West’s world. Players will immediately glitch outside of the map, though by gliding they can travel underneath the world, seeing Horizon Forbidden West’s mountain ranges from a weird angle. Glitches like this have happened before in Horizon Forbidden West, and there’s even been a similar case in the Sheerside Mountains where a player fell through an invisible base.

While Horizon Forbidden West is not known to be a horrendously buggy game, it does have the odd glitch and can put players in less than ideal positions more often than not. Kappa’s Cauldron, one of many Cauldron locations players can explore in Horizon Forbidden West was known to have a bug that would respawn players outside of the game’s boundaries. Though, these glitches can have their uses, as many players pointed out that the invisible cave leading to the center of the world allowed players to glide for long time, meaning they could easily pick up the “Complete a Long Glide” achievement.

With a game as large in scope as Horizon Forbidden West, a few bugs were inevitable. Although, developer Guerrilla Games is working consistently on new patches to support the game and fix bugs as they pop up. Recently, Guerrilla Games even dropped two patches at once for Horizon Forbidden West, seeking to fix a host of the game’s issues.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PS4 and PS5.
