Main Story Missions
Horizon Forbidden West’s main story unfolds over the course of 17 missions, and players should expect to get through it in around 25 hours. Here is a list of those main story missions, and the recommended level for each of them has been indicated:
Side Quests & Errands
Side quests and their simpler-counterparts, errands, are all marked on the map with green exclamation points. This means that players will not be able to distinguish between these two types of optional content simply by looking at the in-game map, and they have thus been grouped together for the purposes of this guide. Here is a list of all the errands and side quests in Horizon Forbidden West, and they can easily double the length of a playthrough:
Other Activities
While not technically quests, players will encounter many other types of activities as they explore the map. These activities include timed challenges, combat-focused trials, and outposts to be cleared. There are also dungeons called Cauldrons and Relic Ruins puzzles in Horizon Forbidden West, which will extend a fan’s playtime even further.
